About Evgenia

Evgenia Startseva, born in Kazakhstan, is a pianist with an international concert career both as a soloist and as a chamber music player. She studied at The Russian Gnessins’ Academy of Music with Theodore Gutmann and Ekaterina Derzhavina and subsequently as a postgraduate at the Moscow State Conservatoire followed by the Musikhochschule in Saarbrücken. Evgenia's busy concert schedule has subsequently taken her across the globe to the former USSR,Germany, Italy, Hungary, Ireland, Greece, Mexico, South Africa, the United States and the UK, where she now lives.

About Taylor

Scottish flautist Taylor MacLennan studied at St Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh before continuing his training at the Royal College of Music in London, where he completed Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. He also studied with Patrick Gallois at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, receiving the Diploma of Merit.

Taylor is a founding member of Explore Ensemble, one of the UK’s leading ensembles for contemporary music. As a freelance orchestral musician, Taylor performs with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, English National Opera, London Mozart Players, Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, and Scottish Ballet, and has appeared at festivals including the BBC Proms, Aldeburgh Festival, hcmf//, Rainy Days, November Music, and Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival.

As a soloist, Taylor has performed at Kings Place, ZKM Karlsruhe, Zeitströme Darmstadt, and the Cambridge Music Festival. His recordings have been released on labels including Hyperion, NMC, Delphian, HCR, New Amsterdam Records, and most recently, Another Timbre, on which he appears on the complete recording of Morton Feldman’s Trios.

Eleanor Medcalf (harp)

About Eleanor

Harpist Eleanor Medcalf is a versatile solo, chamber and orchestral musician who has performed in major venues across the UK, including the Royal Albert Hall, Snape Maltings, Symphony Hall Birmingham and the Bridgewater Hall, under conductors such as Sir Mark Elder, John Wilson and Sian Edwards. A former member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, she performed as Principal Harpist under Marin Alsop in Bernstein’s Mass at the Royal Festival Hall.

Eleanor graduated with First-Class Honours in Classics from Queens’ College, Cambridge, where she was a Choral Scholar and a prize-winner in the Cambridge University Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. She is currently studying for her Master’s in harp performance at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama with Imogen Barford, supported by the Guildhall Award.

About Eunsley and Yuri

Eunsley Park is an exciting, award-winning British/South Korean violinist based in London. She maintains a regular performing schedule, and has performed in prestigious concert halls and venues throughout the UK and internationally including: the Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Southbank - Purcell Room, Cadogan Hall, St John's Smith Square, and the House of Lords, the Philharmonic Hall (Warsaw), Rachmaninov Hall (Moscow), Konserthuset (Stockholm), Palacio de Festivales (Cantabria), Orford Arts Centre (Canada), Mozarteum (Salzburg), Polish Radio Lutoslawski Concert Hall, the Council of Europe (Strasbourg), Goldensaal (Schwerin).

Yuri Paterson-Olenich was born in Brighton where he received piano lessons with Christine Pembridge, whose musical heritage stretches back to Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms. In 1991 he was awarded an exhibition to the Royal Academy of Music where he studied with the late Alexander Kelly. He subsequently continued his studies with Vladimir Tropp at the Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow. Other teachers include Alicia de Larrocha, Alexander Satz and Tatiana Zelikman. His many performances throughout the former USSR were highly acclaimed.
