Privacy Policy

Please be assured that we maintain a strict privacy policy in line with UK data protection law (the UK GDPR). We will never sell your email address or other personal data, and we only share it with the service providers we use to run the Centre, as explained below. Please contact us if you would like your personal information removed from our database.

Like all organisations and businesses which use your personal information, we have to provide information about the purposes for which we use your personal data, the rights you have over it, and what that means in practice.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will always keep your personal information and that of your child/children safe and will never sell it to third parties. We will be clear and open with you about why we collect your personal information and how we use it. Where you have choices or rights, we will explain them to you and respect your wishes. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you or your child/children. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by contacting us. If requested, data will be removed and destroyed. Please note that all processing of your personal data will cease once you have withdrawn consent, other than required by law, but this will not affect any personal data that has already been processed prior to this request.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

The data which Hindhead Music Centre holds about you or your child/children is only that necessary to provide tuition, talks, courses and related services (for example, dietary and medical requirements of those attending one of our summer courses), and to let you know about talks, events and forthcoming tuition-related opportunities.

We use your personal data because we need it to provide the lessons, courses, talks and other services you have asked us for, and because we have a legitimate interest in keeping you informed about related activities at the Centre. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

We send email updates about talks and events to the people who attend them. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe, which takes effect straight away; we keep a note that you unsubscribed so that you are not added back by mistake.

To run the Centre we use a small number of trusted service providers, for example for card and Direct Debit payments, accounts, text messages and email newsletters. They only use your data to provide their service to us, and they must keep it secure.

We keep records of past pupils and customers, so that if you come back to us we can pick up where you left off, and so that our accounts and records stay complete. If you would like us to delete your details, just ask and we will do so, except where we must keep something by law.

We do our best to ensure that any personal data given to us is protected and securely stored. We use security features to try and prevent any unauthorised access.
