Roy Stratford has shifted his popular musical appreciation talks online, and we’re delighted to say that his audience have moved with him! While self-isolating or social distancing, why not join this friendly and welcoming group on Zoom and begin your week with an inspiring musical talk?
Roy says, ‘My approach to the talks is based on a mixture of enthusiasm and demonstration. I think that enthusiasm is infectious (it certainly works for me), and that anything that I say about music needs to be backed up in sound, so I will always spend a lot of time either playing at the piano or a relevant recording.’
Roy has developed a varied musical career as pianist, composer, lecturer, and conductor of the Woking Symphony Orchestra. He lectures regularly at Wigmore Hall and West Dean College, and teaches piano and chamber music at St. Paul’s School.
When: Every Monday morning (except Easter Monday), 10:00-11:30am.
What to expect: Roy will speak for an hour, then open the discussion to all, before concluding the talk at 11:30.
Cost: £10 per talk.
Joining: To sign up for the next talk, please click here to email Roy.
He will then send you joining and payment instructions. You can download Zoom as an app for your mobile or tablet, or sign up on your computer at https://zoom.us/.
